SPECT Image Reconstruction
Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT)
can provide valuable information about organ function.
Filtered back-projection is a common reconstruction algorithm,
but it is only applicable to single slices.
Modern fully 3D iterative reconstruction algorithms
provide enhanced image reconstruction for the whole image volume,
but this comes at the expense of high computational effort.
Grid technology will allow wider use of such reconstruction algorithms.
